COMMUNICATING
There are few joys in life that compare to feeling really connected with your child. Communicating well starts from birth, as you talk with your baby and learn how to interpret what your baby is saying to you. This workshop explores how early interactions lay the foundation for learning language. Strong language skills contribute to later literacy skills.

EXPLORING

Young children open every door, chew on anything within reach, and repeat favorite activities endlessly. They watch everything that goes on around them, and they look to grownups to help them decide what to do. This workshop examines how children use exploring, imitating, and social referencing to learn and make sense of the world around them.

HANDLING STRESS
This workshop examines the causes of stress in infants and young children. Participants will understand more about their role in helping young children learn soothing responses to stress. Other topics discussed include the danger of too much stress in early life and the lifelong benefits of learning healthy ways to handle stress.

We can also customize a workshop using one or a combination of the following modules: Baby Cues (communication), Copycats (imitative behavior), Parentese (early language development), Reading Faces (communication), Stress (how to handle), Testing (exploration), Building Words (language skills), Valuing Emotions (feelings), and Tantrums (strong emotions).
