Julia and Jacques Cooking at Home

As a child, one of Julia's favorite sandwiches was an ice cream sandwich. Jacques' was a stick of chocolate between two pieces of bread. Today, Julia's favorite is the Croque Monsieur, or pressed and baked ham and cheese. Of course, Jacques provides a variation he calls a Croque Madam. A close second they can both agree on is the New England Lobster Roll, served on a toasted hot dog bun. Then the two join forces to produce a Mediterranean specialty, Pan Bagnat and a seafood-filled loaf of bread.

Mexico - One Plate at a Time with Rick Bayless

People are passionate about their tacos in Tijuana. Ask any local and they’ll tell you their favorite — complete with mouthwatering details. Three local Tijuana foodies take Rick on a taco “crawl” starting with arrachera (skirt steak) tacos at El Yaqui. Piled high with beans, creamy avocado salsa and Mexican “candy” (roasted jalapeños). The feast moves on to include suadero tacos at Los Ahumadores, sautéed and fried shrimp tacos at Mariscos El Mazateño, steamed tacos on Tijuana’s tourist strip and ends with smoked salmon tacos at Salceados. At home, Rick creates a taco feast for a casual backyard cookout.

Known as the capital of country music, Nashville also is home to some of the world’s top singer-songwriters and rock and pop bands. Host Jacob Edgar receives a personal tour of Nashville's iconic Grand Ole Opry by country superstar Vince Gill. Then, he sees Elizabeth Miller perform at a funky bar in East Nashville, the bohemian district home to many of the city’s musicians. He checks out Music Row, the epicenter of Nashville’s music business, to visit Compass Records and then tour Gruhn Guitars, which supplies vintage gear to the world’s top musicians. He hears virtuoso banjo player Alison Brown demonstrate her musical talents and then visits the legendary Bluebird Cafe, where Garth Brooks and Taylor Swift started their careers.  And finally, local songwriters Gabe Dixon and Casey Wasner, contemporary blues singer Keb Mo’ and indie rock band Those Darlins prove there is much more to the Nashville scene than country music.
