WSKG Classroom Elements

PROJECT GOAL
In a commitment to preserving local history through public media and sharing important stories of our region with younger generations, WSKG has developed classroom elements that correlate with the documentaries Agnes: Flood of '72, Johnson, and Watson.

The classroom elements serve students in grades 7-12 by supporting existing New York State curriculum especially in the Social Studies content area and State and Local History realm.

ABOUT THE CLASSROOM ELEMENTS
Agnes: Flood of '72, Johnson, and Watson are WSKG original documentaries that explore significant events and people that greatly shaped the Southern Tier of New York state.  Our classroom elements are designed to be used in grades 7-12 social studies classes, as well as in afterschool programs and informal education settings.

Features of the classroom elements include overview, themes, DVD segment descriptions, discussion questions, activities and further resources.  The classroom elements were developed by NYS certified teachers and align with state and national standards.
