The Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has elevated the national discussion about the impact of fossil fuels on the environment. Some people see this as the perfect time to ramp up efforts to transition to renewable, alternative energies. But just how easy would it be to make that transition? What would it take to make that transition? What are the obstacles, and what are the possibilities?
