The Efthimiou Four

Jacob, 14 years old, has played cello with the Little Delaware Youth Ensemble for several years and will begin his second season with the Empire State Youth Orchestra this September.  He has performed at Carnegie Hall and Tanglewood with ESYO and currently studies cello with Ben Whittenburg and piano with Jane Curley.  Esther, and eleventh grader, divides her time between the flute, viola and piano.  Her private teachers have included Diane Krick, Kitty Fitzgerald, Julian Wilcox, Carol Erlandson, Megan Dyer, Yi Ping Yang and Jane Curley. This coming season she will be playing flute with the Empire State Repertory Orchestra, and she has played viola with the Little Delaware Youth Ensemble for several years and the past two seasons with the Empire State Youth Orchestra.  Nathaniel Efthimiou, 18, has been involved in music for eleven years. His private instructors have included Uli Speth, Julie Signitzer, Jane Curley, Julian Wilcox, and Gina Bailey.  He attends Houghton College and studies Music Composition and intends to continue his studies on violin, piano, organ, and conducting.  Nathaniel was a member of the Little Delaware Youth Ensemble for seven seasons, composing and conducting twelve pieces for the ensemble and was also a member of the Empire State Youth Orchestra for two seasons.  Rebekah Efthimiou is currently earning her Bachelors Degree in harp performance at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music as a student of renowned harpist, Yolanda Kondonassis. She graduated with her high school diploma from the Interlochen Arts Academy (IAA) in 2009 having studied with Joan Raeburn Holland. Before attending the IAA she was a student of Karlinda Caldicott and Meredith Bocek.  She performed with the Little Delaware Youth Ensemble preceding a season as principal harpist with the Empire State Youth Orchestra in Albany, NY.
