Gas Drilling and the dSGEIS - Part 2

The debate over gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale in New York is at a fever pitch. The public hearings on the revised draft Supplemental Generic Environmental Impact Statement are over, but the Department of Environmental Conservation has extended the public comment period until close of business on January 12, 2012.

Lou Allstadt, a former Executive Vice President of Mobil Oil Corporation, overseeing all oil and gas exploration in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. Mr. Allstadt is also the former director of the U.S. Oil and Gas Association.
Dr. Ron Bishop, a lecturer in chemistry and biochemistry at SUNY Oneonta. Mr. Bishop is also a nationally-certified hazardous materials specialist, and has presented widely on technical aspects of natural gas extraction.
