The statistics about sexual assault and rape are hard to hear: every 2 minutes, someone in the U.S. is sexually assaulted. More than half of sexual assaults are not reported to the police. 72% of victims are sexually assaulted by someone they know. 97% of rapists will never spend a day in jail.
