Women in Business

On September 10th last year the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce hosted the first Women’s Forum. It was designed with the intent  “to motivate, inspire, and connect women in the area with a strong, local leader who believes that women can have a greater impact by organizing and advocating for each other.” and to focus on networking and discussing the economic status of women in Broome County and in New York State.” Their guest that night was NYS Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo.

This Community Conversation features three women who participated in that Forum: The Women’s Forum organizer, Carol Gallagher,CLTC, Investment Advisor Representative, Partner of Holistic Financial Management, an office of Met Life in Johnson City NY, and  organizer of the event.

Elisa M. Serfass, an Investment Adviser Representative also with Holistic Financial Mangement, an office of Met Life in Johnson City, and the 2008 Triple Cities Business and Professional Woman’s Association’s Woman of the Year. eserfass@metlife.com
Michelle Spight, one of the scholarship attendees to last Fall’s Forum. Michelle is currently studying for her variable licenses and is in the recruiting process with Met Life Securities. She is also a Ronald E. Mc Nair scholar at Binghamton University studying Psychology and Human Development. Michelle’s outspokeness caught the attention of Carol Gallagher, which has ultimately led to a possible business relationship and perhaps employment for Michelle.
