The Democratic National Convention will take place in Charlotte, North Carolina from Tuesday, September 4th, through Thursday September 6th.
NPR will host a live broadcast each convention day from 8pm until 11pm, when the proceedings are scheduled to conclude. The specials will be entirely live, and we will extend our broadcast as warranted if any day's events have not wrapped up by 11pm.
Jennifer Ludden will host from NPR headquarters in Washington, DC. The broadcast will include selected podium speeches; interviews with newsmakers; and analysis from NPR's Senior Washington Editor Ron Elving and NPR National Political Correspondent Mara Liasson, as well as EJ Dionne of The Washington Post and Matt Continetti of the Washington Free Beacon. We'll also have two reporters on the floor of the convention, Debbie Elliott and Sonari Glinton, to talk to delegates and newsmakers, and to provide color.
