Upstate New York has many of the same resources - and challenges - as other regions in the Northeastern U.S. and Canada. First, we'll go south to Pennsylvania, where shale gas has given a boost to the economy - but not without a price. Next, we'll cross the border to Canada- a country that's emerged relatively unscathed from the recent recession. We'll contrast the two sides of Niagara Falls. Canadians have successfully cashed in on this natural wonder, while New York struggles.
