WSKG Education & Outreach invites students grades K-3 to celebrate the power of creating stories and illustrations by submitting their own original pieces! What will your story be about? Dragons? It's polka time! See an all-new episode of Let's Polka! featuring Fritz's Polka Band (FPB) on WSKG TV February 18th at 6:30pm. FPB performs an eclectic mix of musical styles, including modern polka, country, fox-trot and waltz. Fritz's Polka Band is not an "oompa pa" band or the stereotypical "polka" band. In fact, FPB is known for breaking the stereotype regarding polka music!
How has hydrofracking affected New York State? Tune in to WSKG TV on February 10th at 10:00pm for Groundswell: Hydrofracking in New York State from WCNY with The Capitol Pressroom's Susan Arbetter. Examine the controversial energy-extraction technique known as hydraulic fracturing and issues "fracking" poses for New York State. Included: reports from affected communities, including Middlefield and Vestal.
The WSKG Education & Outreach team invites you to two events this February. On February 4th, we'll team up with the Oneonta World of Learning for a Sid the Science Kid day at the Oneonta Theater from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Explore light and shadows with engaging hands-on activities, and observe phospherescent minerals. On February 10th, head to the Broome County Public Library for hands-on activites, reading with BARK-9 therapy dogs and a special screening of the hit PBS KIDS show, Martha Speaks!
