Teacher Workshop - How to Host a STEM Family Night

January 24

WSKG's Education Department will be at Newark Valley Middle School for a STEM Family Night from 6-7:30pm.  Teachers, come learn the logistiscs of how to hold a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Family night  and learn how to replicate this model at your own school.    See first hand how a STEM Family Night operates and learn how to replicate this model for your school.  Teachers will leave with invaluable experience and  information on how to create a similar event.  Workshop open to all teachers.

Newark Valley Pre-K through 3rd grade students will engage in hands on activities including microscope exploration, creating "indigators" for testing acids and bases, squishy circuits and more! Explore how germs spread with UHS and their GermBuster activity.  Try your hand at astronomy with Kopernik Observatory and their telescopes.

STEM Family Night was created to inspire students in science, technology, engineering and math.  The night will be full of cutting edge technology and hands-on demonstrations designed to bolster students’ interest in STEM-related careers.

This event is endorsed by Science Teachers Association of New York State.
