COMMONWEALTH CLUB

VAN JONES, Founder of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, and former Advisor to President Obama. Jones broke new ground with his proposal for a green-collar economy, stating that, "the time has come to move beyond eco-elitism to eco-populism." He fights for environmental justice and to create an economy that is both sustainable and that lifts up the poorest communities through green-collar jobs. Jones describes how the third wave of environmentalism, the investment wave, could solve inequality and catastrophe with a "Green New Deal" mindset.  As presented to the Commonwealth Club of California.

SNAP JUDGMENT

We are sponsored by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and distributed through NPR and Public Radio Exchange (PRX).
Host Glynn Washington has been spreading the storytelling gospel and hobnobbing with interesting folks around the world for years, so you may have shared a Singapore Sling with him once upon a time. But he got his start in radio when he beat out thousands of contestants to win the CPB and PRX Public Radio Talent Quest.
Broadcasting on WSKG Radio Monday nights at 8pm with new episodes each week.
