What is ART IN MOTION?

ART IN MOTION is a competition and

art tour along with an art sale benefiting

WSKG Public Broadcasting

In October 2009, 74 artists answered a Call for Artists with 142 original pieces.  With the help of artist Marc Dennis, 50 outstanding pieces were accepted into our January 2010 competition where they were juried by Jan Kather, Brian Davis, and Anthony Brunelli.  Interviews with the winners are featured in our Art in Motion Preview programs currently airing on WSKG and online at www.wskg.org.  All 50 pieces are traveling to 6 cities around the WSKG viewing area.  Locations include: The Cooperstown Art Association in Cooperstown NY, The VIP Lounge @ RBI Sports Pub in Hornell NY, The Community School of Music and Arts in Ithaca NY, Exhibit A in Corning NY, Mansfield University in Mansfield PA and Southern Tier HealthLink in Binghamton NY.  All of the work is for sale and the proceeds from this fundraiser help WSKG provide quality programming, educational resources and to continue presenting events for the community such as Art in Motion. 

This event highlights the talented artists who reside and work in our broadcast area.  We feel that supporting the arts is important and sharing art with our communities helps to cultivate a love and appreciation of the arts.
