The City of Binghamton will host the second of seven community discussions Thursday afternoon to consider the first update of the city’s comprehensive plan since 2003.
The comprehensive update is being called Blueprint Binghamton. Director of Economic Development Merry Harris says the meetings are an opportunity for community members to provide input on how to make the city more livable.
“We’re bringing together people from our community and some local expertise and state and national expertise to talk about topics related to urban planning, and smart growth,” she says.
Thursday’s discussion will take place at the Broome County Public Library from noon-until-two and will deal with “Placemaking and Economic Development”. Space is limited, so prospective attendees must register online. The next public discussion will take place in two weeks on May 2nd. The topic for that meeting will be “Trends in Residential Markets.”
