NOXEN, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say four adults and one child are dead after a helicopter took off from an airport in central New York and crashed in a rugged area of northeastern Pennsylvania. Officials say the pilot reported he was losing altitude just before air traffic controllers lost track of the helicopter Saturday night. The wreckage was found yesterday in Noxen in Wyoming County.

The Press Sun Bulletin reports Wyoming County coroner Thomas Kukuchka says those on board appear to have been a man and his son, a man and his daughter and the pilot. He is not releasing the ages of the victims until his office can reach family members of the deceased in Leesburg, Va., Ellicott City, Md. and Kintnersville, Pa.
