A New York judge has rejected a challenge of the method used to speed up passage of the controversial SAFE Act.
Opponents challenged Governor Cuomo’s use of a message of necessity to waive a 3-day waiting period required by state law before a bill can be voted on.
Gerry Cumbo is a member of the Shooters’ Committee on Political Education.
"It was only designed to beat back any public criticism of the law before it was signed and not even allow the legislators to read the bill before it was signed," says Cumbo.
The lawsuit also argued the SAFE Act infringes on Second Amendment rights, but the judge disagreed.
