ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) - New York Secretary of State Cesar Perales is planning a visit to the Groundswell Incubator Farm just outside Ithaca.

The 10-acre farm gives beginning farmers access to land, along with production support and advice from professionals. It's operated by nonprofit Goundswell Center for Local Food and Farming, whose mission is to nurture the next generation of farmers.

Joining Perales Wednesday will be Jorge Montalvo, director of the New York State Office for New Americans. The office is credited with helping Groundswell obtain funds to help immigrant and refugee beginning farmers get started.
