The legislature and governor’s office are in talks over a bill to legalize medical marijuana in New York. Lawmakers have until the legislative session ends on Thursday to pass the Compassionate Care Act. If they do, New York would become the 23rd state to legalize medical marijuana.
One of the groups opposing the plan is the New York Society of Addiction Medicine. Norman Watterau, a physician, is president of the group.
