NEW YORK (AP) — Eliot Spitzer has a wide lead over Democratic rival and Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer in the first poll conducted largely since the New York City comptroller rivals faced off in heated debates.
The Quinnipiac (KWIHN'-uhp-ee-ak) University poll finds the scandal-scarred former New York governor gets support from 56 percent of likely Democratic voters.
Stringer gets 37 percent.
