A new poll from Siena College finds Governor Cuomo holding a 36-point lead in his race against Republican challenger Rob Astorino.

Astorino appears to be having a hard time introducing himself to the vast majority New York voters. 69 percent of those polled between June 8 and June 12 said they did not know enough about Astorino to form an opinion.

Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg says there’s one solution to that problem.

"First and foremost, Astorino’s gotta have the money to become known to the voters of this state," says Greenburg. "This is a very big state with some of the most expensive, including the most expensive media market in the country. It is really hard for a candidate for statewide to become known through radio interviews or being in the newspaper."

Greenberg says Astorino has had success rallying Republican voters with his opposition to gun control, but is having trouble finding issues that will attract independent voters.
