WSKG News...

An Introduction from Brian Sickora

As the new President and CEO of WSKG Public Broadcasting, I am delighted to be the newest member of the talented WSKG team and equally as excited about being your new neighbor. After stints in Oregon, Florida and most recently Washington DC at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, it feels good to be nestled in the rolling hills of Southern New York which remind me of my home in Central Pennsylvania.

What drew me to WSKG is that both the region and station are poised for great success. With your financial support, WSKG has just completed its conversion to digital signal transmission. This provides opportunities to develop and deliver content and services that address critical education and economic development needs. The staff at WSKG is passionate about changing lives through public service media, from providing engaging educational video streaming content to thousands of children daily to helping just one parent proudly obtain a GED.

We believe that our role in the community is to help connect neighbors to address local issues within and across community and town boundaries. Through its broadcast reach, WSKG can help harness the collective experience, knowledge and resources to address important issues to all. You will hear more in the near future about our new initiative that will link neighbors, teachers, students and community leaders to facilitate the discussion of important issues.

So, I look forward to serving you in my new role and especially to meeting you. And on behalf of the communities we serve, I thank you for your generous support. For each gift that WSKG receives is truly a gift - not to, but through WSKG - to meet the needs of your local community.

Warm regards,
Brian
