Job Description
This position is responsible for overseeing the Human Resources function, and for providing executive administrative support to the President & CEO, both in fulfillment of the station’s mission. In this position, you will report to the President & CEO, and:
- provide guidance to managers and staff relating to any HR issues, including compensation and performance programs, employee discipline and supervision issues;
- facilitate all hiring, including nation-wide recruitment, interviewing, negotiation of offers and new hire orientation;
- write, update and maintain all station job descriptions in coordination with department managers;
- oversee the management and administration of all benefits, including health insurance programs, disability, retirement savings, and Section 125 plan;
- write, maintain and update company policies and policy manuals as needed;
- work closely with payroll on all pay issues, including new hire paperwork, pay increases, and benefits changes;
- serve as EEO officer, ensuring the fulfillment of station responsibilities relating to equal employment opportunity, and completing annual reporting;
- maintain WSKG’s Public Files and online Public Files;
- act as the liaison between Board of Trustee (BoT) members and the President & CEO, and facilitate BoT efforts and activities including scheduling, writing of meeting minutes, and record keeping;
- participate in WSKG fundraising activities;
- professionally represent WSKG in the community; and
- perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
- At least three years of experience working in human resources or relevant experience
- Strong communication skills and project-management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience serving as an Executive Assistant and working with a Board of Trustees
- Experience handling employee benefits
- Experience in a not-for-profit environment
