BINGHAMTON, NY (WSKG) - Broome County has confirmed its first death related to COVID-19. The individual died at Lourdes hospital.
The county isn't releasing personal information, but health officials said they are contacting people who may have been around the individual.
They're urging people to stay home and avoid contact with others. If someone feels sick they should contact their doctor.
According to Broome County Executive Jason Garnar's office, this case is in addition to confirmed cases announced earlier this week. As of noon on Saturday, Broome had two confirmed cases.
Delaware, Chenango, Tioga, Tompkins and Steuben Counties have announced positive cases of COVID-19.
