VESTAL, NY (WSKG) - Endless “Classic Jazz” can be heard on WSKG Classical’s newest music stream. Selections from Jazz Greats taken from the WSKG Classical library are available via the WSKG and NPR1 apps, iHeart and TuneIn, smart speakers and YourPublicRadio.org.
The WSKG Classical jazz stream, which is “Commercial Free. Subscription Free. Fee Free”, offers nearly 3000 musical tracks. Performers include Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Benny Goodman, Dave Brubeck, Oscar Peterson and Thelonius Monk.
“If we’re going to call ourselves ‘WSKG Classical’", Radio Director Charles Compton says “then we need to have a place for ‘America’s Classical Music.'”
You can just say “Alexa, open Classic Jazz” or “Hey Google, ask WSKG Radio to play Classic Jazz.” If using ALEXA, first, using your ALEXA app, find WSKG's streams and enable "Classic Jazz." Then you can listen worry-free on any smart speaker supported by ALEXA.
“So, the quality is high and repetition is minimal,” said Compton. “We took fifty years to build WSKG’s music library into a high end resource for outstanding jazz performances."
WSKG Classical’s music streams are also available on our WSKG app, the NPR1 app, TuneIn, iHeart, Fire TV and at YourPublicRadio.org.
Jazz is also broadcast on WSKG Classical on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons with "Jazz After Hours", "Jazz Night in America" and "Cafe' Jazz."
