WSKG President & CEO Announces Retirement
Greg Catlin ends long broadcast career

VESTAL, NY: After more than 45 years in the broadcasting business, on-air and behind the scenes, WSKG President & CEO Greg Catlin announces his retirement. His last day on the job will be Friday, October 7th, 2022.

Catlin says "It’s been an honor and privilege to serve and lead WSKG TV and radio for nearly 6 years. It’s well situated for many years ahead. WSKG has a focused mission and vision as a public media organization, specializing in education, with compelling content for all listeners and viewers and those using our growing digital technology.”

Among the many accomplishments during his tenure, WSKG was brought out of debt and into financial security, the Endowment grew tremendously, car donations skyrocketed, an Ithaca office was opened with a state-of-the-art radio studio, 2 radio station formats were changed dramatically, the mortgage was refinanced, a $1 million dollar roof replacement completed, and the organization is almost finished with a Strategic Plan as a path forward for the future.

WSKG Board of Trustees Chairman Allen Buyck says “Greg came to WSKG when we needed to establish financial stability. He has accomplished that objective and has put the station on sound financial footing. In addition, he has worked with the board and staff to establish a sound strategic plan that will provide a vision for many years to come.
On behalf of the board, we want to thank Greg for all of his contributions.”

The Board of Trustees will be discussing options for interim leadership to ensure that the mission of the station is not impacted until a permanent successor is selected.

Before his appointment as President & CEO at WSKG, Catlin worked at WBNG-TV (CBS) in Binghamton, NY for nearly 36 years as General Manager and also News Director, but he’s probably best known to the general public as a TV News Anchor/News reporter there for 30 years.

About WSKG:
