Tony Blazonczyk's New Phaze, Show One

WSKG is proud to welcome Tony Blazonczyk's New Phaze to the Let's Polka stage! Tony and the band traveled all the way from Chicago to entertain the live studio audience and dancers with a half hour of polka fun. New Phaze began its journey in the fall of 2005. After several attempts to get a band started, Tony Blazonczyk finally succeded in putting the right combination of musicians together to form what is now New Phaze. The band has expanded it's following over the years touring the USA & Canada. New Phaze's six piece format and multi-influential roots have developed from a mixture of Rock & Roll, Country & Western & Bluegrass. The band consists of Tim Jagodzinski (concertina), John Furmaniak (accordion), Melvin Rzeszutko (drums), CJ Lackowski and Dan Levdanski (trumpet). Performances during this episode include "Grey Eyes Oberek", "For My Lover Polka", and the "Birds Were Singing Waltz". The program is hosted by polka DJ Bill Flynn who also interviews Tony.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAggj8HXu60SETLIST1) "Hi, Hello, How Are You Polka"2) "Fisherman's Polka"3) "Grey Eyes Oberek"4) "For My Lover Polka"5) "Birds Were Singing Waltz"6) "Winobranie (Let's Drink) Polka"POLKA FACT: The word "pulka" in Czech means half-step and pertains to the quick movement of one foot to the other. If you are interested in joining WSKG’s Let’s Polka Club, please contact Chris DiRienzo at (607) 729-0100 ext. 385
