“The jazzman (and woman) testifies” again on WSKG Classical. Tune in Fridays at 9:00 p.m. for Jazz Night in America and then Jazz After Hours.
Hosted by multiple Grammy Award-winning musician Christian McBride, Jazz Night in America presents content from across the nation to share this uniquely American art form. This radio program features storytelling with concert performances, connecting jazz enthusiasts and potential new fans with artists and venues.
Jazz After Hours is the focal point of a vibrant, exciting jazz community. The best new jazz releases are featured each week. Host Jeff Hanley covers the jazz scene across America and connects the music and
the musicians on the show to the club gigs, festivals, and concerts that keep jazz alive. The variety of music presented is a jazz lover’s dream. Jazz on the radio has never been more listenable.
Also, this winter, listen to evening programs on WSKG Classical at new times. Shows like Symphony Cast, The New York Philharmonic, The Chicago Philharmonic, and From The Top have moved back one-hour to 7:00 p.m.
"After we created WSKG Classical," Radio Director Charles Compton says "we heard from two groups of listeners. Some wanted to hear more jazz, and others wanted us to air our weekday symphonies at a later time. Too often, they said the symphonies conflicted with dinner."
Both The Retro Cocktail Hour and Blues Before Sunrise are also at new times. Cocktails are served Fridays at 7:00 p.m. and the Blues will sound Saturdays at 2:00 a.m.
