ITHACA, NY (WSKG) - The Ithaca City School District will soon have help from the state to keep its health insurance costs down.

The governor signed a bill which allows the district to create an insurance reserve fund to help manage health insurance costs. Assemblywoman Barbara Lifton introduced the bill last year.

The Ithaca City School District voted to self-fund it’s employee health insurance in 2017.
