When pressed, school board President Brian Whalen said there will be a temporary hold on any closures until the district has exhausted other options.

The district has proposed shuttering the aging school in order to cut costs and address a decline in projected enrollment across the district.

The district is now considering renovating the aging schools and keep them all open.
