This lecture seeks to curate discussion on the current status of psychological treatments for PTSD, while providing insights into new directions for future work. The lecture is led by the Director of the National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder’s Behavioral Science Division, Terence M. Keane, MA ’76, PhD ’79, SD ’11.

A renowned researcher, scholar and clinician, Keane also serves as a professor of psychiatry/clinical psychology and assistant dean of VA research at Boston University. He has lectured on topics related to PTSD around the world, served as a consultant to many countries and has presented to the United Nations on the mental health consequences of torture.

The lecture is under a group of lectures known as the "Stephen A. Lisman Annual Lecture in Clinical Psychology". Having been first established in 2015, the annual lecture is given by a top clinical psychologist nationwide. The lecture series honors Distinguished Teaching Professor Lisman’s 43 years of service and his contributions to Binghamton University and the clinical psychology field. The series is meant to enhance the quality of training and education and expose students, faculty and the Binghamton community to important topics in the profession.
