Cortland County Organ Crawl

Cortland County Organ Crawl
A Cortland County Organ Crawl will feature eight organs on two Saturdays this fall: October 25 and December 6. Organists at each venue will explore a different aspect of pipe organ structure and music and play appropriate seasonal excerpts. “Crawlers” can visit any or all of the churches to appreciate the unusual position of this “king of musical instruments” as part furniture, part church architecture, and part acoustical delicacy.
The crawl begins at 10 AM with an Andrew Carnegie organ in St. John's Episcopal Church in Marathon, travels to McGrawville Baptist and then to six churches in Cortland, two of which house historically significant Barnes & Morey organs from the 1890's. The crawl will conclude here at United Presbyterian at 2:30 with a reprise of Phantom of the Opera on the October date.
