Hiawatha Island in the Susquehanna River
The Broome County Historical Society presents Tioga County's Hiawatha Island which has an incredible history. Steamboats stopped there, reunions and clambakes were held there, and folks came from Binghamton and elsewhere to eat in and stay at the hotel on the island. Emma Sedore, Tioga County Historian, will share this story and many photos of the island's popularity in bygone days.
