La Muchacha y el Propio Junte

La Muchacha y el Propio Junte

The Muchacha, the one who in her search of her roots has built a sound manifesto that connects with other voices and with different lives. She sets out to create in a collective and to explore new sounds, A project that delves into new sounds, adding to the voice and guitar of her usual format, double bass and drums. Miguel Velásquez Matijasevic accompanies her on double bass and Camilo Bartelsman on percussion, with whom they have created something almost symbiotic in addition to a handful of songs that will become a whole new and vibrant album.

La Muchacha’s musical project is a sound manifesto born from an investigation of her people's musical roots. It recognizes their Latin American origins and strong roots in the tradition of singer-songwriters.

With a guitar and vocal format, La Muchacha explores the nuances of Colombian rhythms and the rich mix generated between popular, folkloric, and new world music. She has successfully circulated her three albums: ‘Polen’, ‘Canciones Crudas’, and ‘Más Canciones Crudas’ throughout the Colombian territory and in festivals, theaters, and cultural markets such as Músicas al Parque, the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo, the Boom, Circulart, Maps in Tenerif, and the Teatro Colón de Bogotá.

In 2021 and 2022, she made her first tour in Spain, touring Bilbao, Madrid, Barcelona, and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which sold out in all cities. She was also in Chile and throughout Colombia. In 2023, she was in Mexico and returned to Spain for the third year.

Her music, released by the local label In-Correcto and managed by the cultural production company PopUp Art, speaks, among other things, about the defense of life and the resistance of communities, territories, love, and the complicity between humor and satire.
