A multi-generational stringband with roots in traditional American old-time fiddle music, Wicked Children is: Judy Hyman (fiddle) and Jeff Claus (banjo uke and guitar) of The Horse Flies; brothers Gus Tritsch (guitar and fiddle) and Huck Tritsch (fiddle and percussion), of The Wild Shoats; and Sally Freund (bass) of Rose and the Bros and Tractor Family. Huck and Gus have won 1st and 2nd place respectively in the youth fiddle contest at the Clifftop Festival in WV, and their band has won 1st place in the neo-trad category there. Gus tours regularly with Jake Blount and both he and Huck appeared on Blount’s Tiny Desk Concert on NPR. Hyman and Claus have extensive touring and recording history with The Horse Flies, and Hyman has done multiple tours with Natalie Merchant and appeared on 3 of her albums.
