VESTAL, NY (WSKG) - We have big decisions to make about who should represent us in Congress. Sometimes, it feels like all we see are negative campaign ads – photos of one candidate or another in greyscale; phrases like, “Bad for New York;" linking them with some loaded national figure. We wanted to cut through all of that and just talk one-on-one with each of the candidates and get to hear them flesh out what they plan to do for the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier of New York. NY-19: Candidates Talk Ballot Access, Infrastructure, Race, Healthcare and Taxes
FiveThirtyEight consider this four-way race a "toss up." The district covers the Hudson Valley and includes Delaware and Otsego Counties and part of Broome. Incumbent John Faso (R), Antonio Delgado (D), Steve Greenfield (G) and Diane Neal (I) are vying for the seat.
In this race, incumbent Tom Reed (R) has held the seat since 2013. Before that, he represented the former NY-29 from 2010-2013, which included much of the same area. Unfortunately, Reed did not agree to an interview. Tracy Mitrano (D) is challenging him. She did.
NY-22: Brindisi, Tenney Talk Over Dairy Farming, Meth and Morality
Another toss up, according to FiveThirtyEight. The most recent Siena College poll shows there's just one point separating incumbent Claudia Tenney (R) from Anthony Brindisi (D). However, there's a few things to keep in mind when considering the weight we should give to polls.
