A special council meeting in the town of Corning last month left some residents with more questions than answers. It also brought up questions about local government transparency and Open Meetings Law.

The City of Binghamton has been holding public meetings remotely for several months. But it’s not clear whether the city is fulfilling all the requirements under New York state law.

"There should be something in the legislation that allows for the public to comment remotely. This legislation doesn't do that."
