This is a two part program. Monday 2/6 we will watch the documentary "Central Park Five." Wednesday 2/8 we are scheduled to hear from one of those exonerated of that crime as well as a staff member from the Innocence Project. Scheduled as of this posting (may change): Korey Wise was one of the Central Park Five and was convicted by the State of New York for Assault, Sexual Abuse, Riot on 12/11/90. He was exonerated on 12/19/02 after serving 12 years for a crime he did not commit. Gabriel Lopez joined the innocence project as a Case Analyst in May 2018. Prior to working at the innocence project, Gabriel worked as an intake paralegal at Brooklyn Legal Services in the Tenant Rights Coalition unit. He earned his B.A. in Psychology from Hunter College and is currently seeking his Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology at John Jay College at the City University of New York.
Free and open to all. Students will need their SUNY Oneonta Event Pass to get credit.
