John Gurche is an American paleoartist whose work has been featured in publications and museums around the world, appearing in National Geographic Magazine (14 issues, 5 covers), Smithsonian Magazine, Scientific American and many others. Fifteen of Gurche's sculptures are on display in Smithsonian's Hall of Human Origins. Additional works appear in the American Museum of Natural History, the Field Museum and others. Gurche was commissioned by Steven Spielberg to create pre-production and poster art for the movie, Jurassic Park. John's presentation, including an accompanying slide show, will focus on his work for Jurassic Park as well as his present work on reconstructing human ancestors.
