Ospreys Abound: Safer Habitats/Reliable Electricity
This talk will focus on the Osprey Outage Mitigation Program, which aims to provide safe nesting sites for osprey while increasing service reliability for electric customers throughout New York State. The program proactively installs nest boxes and fiberglass risers on utility poles and relocates new nests from hazardous locations on electric wires to safer boxes during the designated off-season. Osprey, a magnificent species cherished by the birding community throughout New York State, benefit greatly from this initiative.
