Sacred Harp (shape note) singing convention
Singers are invited to join in a free and open event of harmony singing in the shape note (Sacred Harp) tradition. The music is sung a cappella, in a uniquely American style dating to before the Revolutionary war. The music is sung full-voiced. Loaner books available. Prior singing experience helpful but not necessary. All are welcome, regardless of singing background or ability. Come for the joy of singing (or just to listen), and experience a living American musical heritage.
