Celebrate America 250 with an art contest for kids 0-18 years old sponsored by the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution! During the month of April stop into the Library to pick up a blank sheet of paper, an entry form, and review the instructions. The contest celebrates the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States and encourages young artists to reflect on America’s past, present, and future.
Contest Guidelines:Open to children ages 18 and underArtwork must celebrate America’s 250th birthdayUse of any artistic medium is permittedArtwork must be in shades of red, white, blue, and yellowOptional text is limited to a maximum of four words (note: “America250” counts as one word)All entries must be submitted to a participating library by April 30
The 1st place winner will have a one month local billboard feature of their artwork! Another 25 kids will have their art displayed on the digital billboard in Ithaca near the DAR office throughout the upcoming months.

Mauro Marinelli became a Photographer because he couldn’t draw, not a lick. The camera allowed him access to a life in art. But he still had this undeniable urge to paint.While living in NYC he frequented MOMA almost weekly.There was one grand room or space with pale grey walls that he had often rushed through. On one occasion, on one fated day, he paused, and stopped in the THAT room. And was granted his wish to paint. The room of Malevich, Mondrian & Theo Von Doesburg. They spoke to him. They touched him with the awakening stick of enlightenment.Ceramic artists Michael and Laura Dale George are thrilled to announce their work will be exhibited in "Geometric Abstractions" at the Gallery at South Hill. Together for eight years, this is their first collaboration on a full series of pieces, which explores the interplay of mathematical precision and the organic implications of clay worked by human hands. The work invites you to search for symmetries and emergent patterns in the handmade interlocking geometrics. Pieces on display explore the themes of vulnerability and guardedness, and draw inspiration from kusudama, platonic solids, Celtic knotwork and ancient armor.

We are so excited to share that—just in time for Easter—we’ll be launching Saturday services! Twice a month, we’ll gather for worship with those whose work schedules make Sunday mornings difficult.
Our heart is to allow for everyone to worship, grow, and stay connected to the body of Christ—no matter their schedule. We can’t wait to gather together and see what God will do through this new opportunity!

YAGODY is one of the most charismatic contemporary Ukrainian folk bands that has emerged in the past decade. Founded in Lviv, Ukraine, in 2016 by Zoryana Dybovska, YAGODY (meaning “berries”) is rooted in Ukrainian and Balkan musical traditions. However, the ensemble has created its own modern and gripping sound by showcasing theatrical singers supported by musicians playing on drums, percussion, guitar, bass, and accordion. From traveling across Eastern Europe, YAGODY is influenced by a diverse world of melodies, rhythms, and themes. A YAGODY performance is ritualistic and self-described as a musical trance based on the pulse of humanity.
In 2020, YAGODY released its debut self-titled album, which features 10 songs based on Ukrainian and foreign folk music along with a music video for the song “Kalyna-Malyna.” In 2021, a music video for the single “Zelena Lishchyna” was released, followed by “Divonko” in 2022. In 2023, the band created its first original song, “Tsunamia,” which was chosen as the national selection for Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2024.

Tioga Arts Council (TAC) is pleased to present its Tioga County Middle & High School Student Exhibition. It will open on First Friday, April 3, from 5 - 8 p.m. at 179 Front St., Owego. After the opening, the exhibition will be on view from April 4 - 25, 2026, Wed. through Sat. from 12 - 4 p.m..The exhibition features work from Candor, Newark Valley, Owego, Spencer Van Etten, and Tioga Central.
