BINGHAMTON, NY (WSKG) - A coalition of religious leaders and fiscal analysts are traveling New York talking to communities about the state budget proposal.

One of the goals of the group is to end to the two percent property tax cap. A bill to make that cap permanent has passed the senate and has support from Governor Andrew Cuomo, but has stalled in the Assembly.

Some of their other ideas included a database to track economic development initiatives. It already has bi-partisan support in the state Senate and Assembly.

"Documenting where the state money goes," Kris Hodges said. "And is it contributing to new jobs. Creating that database is really something that should be done."

The tour has thirteen stops and ends March 6. The budget is due March 31.
