ITHACA, NY (WSKG) - Voters in each of Tompkins County’s school districts approved budgets this week.  In the Ithaca City district, they approved a 10-year, $120-million dollar capital projects plan.

The District says Board election results will not be announced until all write-in ballots are counted on Wednesday.

The capital project plan was one of three propositions on the Ithaca ballot.  All three passed with over 80% of the vote.

Over the course of the 10-year plan, there will be security upgrades to the entrances of most of the elementary schools and Ithaca High School. There are also upgrades to aging infrastructure and the creation of new learning areas, such as STEM and Humanities Labs at the high school.

Ithaca voters also approved the purchase of eight new school buses.
