ALBANY, NY (AP/WSKG) - The LGBTQ pride flag is flying over the New York state Capitol for the first time in state history in celebration of Pride Month. The flag went up yesterday.
Governor Andrew Cuomo said the state is grateful to the many New Yorkers who fight discrimination and work toward equality.
This comes the same day Cuomo denounced a Facebook message that called for a mass shooting during Pride activities in Watertown. He said the state has "no tolerance for such cowardly acts."
