BINGHAMTON, NY (WSKG) - Tompkins County District Attorney Matt Van Houten has officially announced his re-election campaign.
This comes after Van Houten told WSKG last week that he planned to run again.
“As a progressive prosecutor, it is my mission to make Tompkins County a place where people truly believe that they will be treated fairly and with dignity, even in the most unpleasant and stressful circumstances," Van Houten said. "It has been a privilege to serve the people of Tompkins County and I look forward to the opportunity to serve another term as your District Attorney.”
Van Houten has served as D.A. since 2016. He's facing Attorney Edward Kopko in the Democratic primary, which will be held June 23rd.
