“The workers don’t like it. It’s not going to be good for the farmers and it could potentially close a lot of our farms."

The new 24th district, which includes most of Oswego County and stretches west through the Finger Lakes and into Niagara County in western New York.

"That's a tougher hill for (Claudia Tenney) to climb, but she's got a lot of name recognition. She has money; she has incumbency."

Just over a year ago, a judge ordered county elections officials to certify Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-22) as the winner in New York’s 22nd Congressional District race. Elections officials say many of the administrative failures have since been resolved.

"(Tenney) is a particularly conservative Republican. She's very much of a firebrand type and style, like former President Trump in some ways."

The Southern Tier district is currently represented by Rep. Tom Reed (R-23) who announced he would not run for reelection.

"Everything that we anticipated could happen is happening. I don't think the president is in a position to be able to lead right now."
