Tri-Cities Opera presents Jake Heggie's 90-minute opera 'Three Decembers' in the Opera Center on Clinton Street in Binghamton. The original play is by Terrence McNally, adapted by Gene Scheer who also supplied libretti for Heggie's 'Moby Dick' as well as Jennifer Higdon's 'Cold Mountain'. Mezzo-soprano Tesia Kwarteng, who plays the Broadway diva Madeline Mitchell, and baritone Aaron Stepanek, who plays her son, talk about this complex family and the secrets they finally reveal in this moving, yet funny opera.
