Advocates in Action- Intro to the Food Bank
Advocates in Action- Intro to the Food Bank
Join Us for Advocates in Action 2026
Advocates in Action is a live webinar training series designed for anyone who wants to better
understand food access programs, share their experiences, and help ignite meaningful change.
Open to all in the Southern Tier, this series especially encourages participation from individuals
with firsthand experience of food insecurity .
Together, we practice patient listening and shared learning. We turn knowledge into action by
using our stories and strengths to make a difference. We center equity by ensuring every voice
has a seat at the table. And we build community through collective support and shared
responsibility.
This year’s sessions include:
● Intro to the Food Bank
● Storytelling for Change
● Intro to Advocacy
● Trauma-Informed Care & Active Listening
Trainings are interactive, practical, and focused on helping participants grow their confidence as
advocates. Whether that means speaking with elected officials, supporting neighbors, or sharing
lived experience in ways that move policy and practice forward.
You may opt into individual sessions or participate in the full series. Each training builds skills,
strengthens connections, and supports advocates in channeling their passion into meaningful
impact.
We hope you’ll join us this year and be part of a growing network committed to equity, dignity,
and food access for all.
