Ithaca Ballet's Hansel and Gretel ballet premiere
The Ithaca premiere of Hansel and Gretel will open the Ithaca Ballet’s Fall season. Choreographed by Lavinia Reid with music by Engelbert Humperdinck, the Grimm’s well-known fairytale in ballet form tells the story of a brother and sister wandering in the forest, encountering an evil witch and her enchanted gingerbread house. The second half of the program is beloved story of Peter and the Wolf, music by Serge Prokofiev and narrated by Peter Ustinov.
